Once outfitted, we depart ZIon Adventure Company either by our vans, or park shuttle, depending upon time of year, and work our way up the scenic drive to the Temple of Sinawava. This 7-mile drive is extremely beautiful, and if we are behind the wheel, will make all efforts to stop for photo opportunities and interpretive moments. Once at the Temple we will make our last use of public restrooms then walk the 1 mile Riverside Walk until it ends at the Gateway to the Narrows. This is were we begin our river hiking experience and work our way approximately 1 3/4 miles up canyon to the junction of Orderville Canyon. National Park regulations for guided Narrows events make this our turn around point and we work our way back to the Temple of Sinawava. This trip is very much pace dependent, and may be as short as 5 hours, but as many as 8 hours. We will have numerous photo opportunities, and will be able to just glance into the reaches of Wall Street. Even though we turn at this point, the depth of experience we offer as your guide often exceeds those of self-guided hikers who travel through Wall Street.
Hiking the Narrows is canyoneering, though non-technical. It does not require any ropes, but it does require some skill and initiative. Your pre-trip orientation and gear up session with your guide will help us minimize risks, get outfitted appropriately, then build upon our simple safety guidelines to manifest an amazing experience in one of the greatest slot canyons.
