Three Ways to Hike the Narrows
Before you head into the Narrows, you must first choose the route you will take. Each of the three possible routes require different equipment, planning, and available time.

Obtain a Permit for Your Thru-Hike
Zion National Park requires all Thru-Hikers to have a backcountry permit. A limited number of permits are reservable on-line; the remainder are available on a first-come, first-served at the Visitor's Center Backcountry Desk. You may obtain such walk-in permits the day of, or day before, your Thru-Hike. Demand is especially high for Thru-Hike permits during weekends and holidays, April through October. It is not uncommon to see folks arriving hours before the BC desk opens to line up for permits during popular times of the year. Increase your chances of securing a permit by reserving one on-line or planning your Thru-Hike Monday through Thursday.

Trailhead Shuttle Service for Narrows Thru-Hikers
Reserve a 6:30 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. departure from Springdale for Chamberlain's Ranch, the gateway to the Narrows Thru-Hike.
