| » | At various points along our downhill cruise, we stop to enjoy the views and discuss unique elements of Zion's alpine desert ecology and cultural history. Opportunities for photography, natural history, and plant identification abound. |
| » | Starting at the high desert oasis of Kolob Reservoir, we jump on our bikes and descend into the astounding terraces of Zion's midsection. We follow the paved road for 25 miles, rolling first through aspen and conifer forests, then past brilliant white slickrock peaks, and finally into redrock canyon country, tracing North Creek to the town of Virgin, UT. Along the way, our mountain-top views extend far into the horizon, providing fantastic panoramas of the mesas, canyons, and mountains surrounding us. The ride is 80% downhill, 10% flat, and 10% uphill, including a few steep descents and some fun, twisting turns. |
