With Every Season, A New World
Each month evokes a different flavor of light, weather, and drama in the Narrows. Spring brings flooding from thawing winter snows. Summer temperatures warm the river, while August thunderbursts inspire caution and awe. Autumn ushers in a period of warmth, soft light, and calm waters as the crowds subside and the Park slowly grows quiet. Winter, perhaps the least known season in the Narrows, features serene quiet, icy beauty, and unprecendented peace in the deep canyon. Use the table below as a guide to the best time for your first, second, or 20th Narrows visit.
