Born and raised in Dearborn, MI and the only time I ever moved was to a house across the street. I was 5 years old at the time and my fondest memory was carrying chairs that were as large as I across the road, waiting for cars to pass. I'm the youngest of 5 children to Yemeni immigrant parents. Growing up in a generational gap between cultures has shaped who I am and has imbued me with the work ethic of my father. A father who uprooted himself from his home country to find a better life. And had the good fortune to be raised by a compassionate mother who was the glue of the family. My love for the outdoors is something innate, the earliest answer I can remember of what I wanted to do when I grew up was simple; be outside, and travel. It wasn't a direct path but I wouldn't change a thing! I've backpacked and kayaked in Australia, Skydived, hiked the Appalachian Trail and managed to become a Certified Fire Fighter, licensed EMT and a trained Paramedic in the process. I've now found myself on my latest adventure in an amazing part of the country surrounded by a massive playground and some amazing people to share this place with. I've must've done something right!
